RUN 1:
about 1.5
miles

Start: George Mason Circle
-
Left turn onto Edwin
King Lane
-
Turn left onto Freedom Center Blvd and continue
running in the lane closest to the sidewalk to LEFT turn into driveway into
the Freedom Center.
-
Go straight on driveway behind the building to
start of mulch path.
-
Continue on mulch path to the gravel dust trail.
-
Bear RIGHT onto the trail and continue to follow
it until you reach the turn-around cone.
-
Circle the cone and return along the trail till
you exit the woods (same spot where you entered).
-
When exiting the woods,
continue straight on the driveway.
-
At the corner of the
building, turn right onto sidewalk.
-
At front corner of the
building, turn right and run on sidewalk along front of the building to
the entrance of the transition area.
BIKE: 7.5 miles on low traffic roads, basically flat Map
REMEMBER: A BIKE HELMET IS REQUIRED!!!
The helmet MUST be buckled before you begin to ride and not be unbuckled until
you dismount the bike. Failure to follow this rule results in an automatic DQ (USA Triathlon rule).
At the start, REMEMBER: DON'T GET ON
YOUR BIKE UNTIL YOU CROSS THE MOUNT LINE!
At the end of the bike ride,
GET OFF YOUR BIKE BEFORE YOU CROSS THE DISMOUNT LINE!
REMEMBER: always ride on the far right-hand side of the street; pass
only on the left
Start: Freedom Center parking lot
- Exit parking lot to George Mason Circle

Stay on George Mason
Circle to the U-turn at the turnaround cone
(near Hylton Performing Arts Center) -
Continue on
George Mason Circle back to
RIGHT turn onto Canon Creek -
Go to
U-turn at end of
street, and return to RIGHT
turn onto George Mason Circle -
Continue to
RIGHT onto Edwin King Lane -
RIGHT on Freedom Center Blvd.

at end of street,
U-turn and return on
Freedom Center Blvd to RIGHT
turn onto Pyramid Place

Continue to
U-turn, then return
to RIGHT onto Freedom
Center Blvd

Go to
U-turn (near back
driveway into Freedom Center), then return to

This is a THREE loop course.
The entire bike course is to be raced 3 times. At the end of the 3rd
loop, duathletes are to dismount and enter the transition area.
RUN 2:
about 1.6 miles

Turn LEFT onto sidewalk
in front of the building and continue
on sidewalk until you reach the turn-around cone (see map) .

Return on same
sidewalk

continue to a right
turn to sidewalk
which passes in front of the Freedom Center building.

Turn left to go around
the building.

At back corner of
building, turn left onto driveway behind the building.
-
Go STRAIGHT on grass
and onto trail into the woods
-
Follow trail to
turn-around sign.
-
Return on trail through
woods to the open grass area near the building.
-
Turn RIGHT on grass and
continue to the finish line.
